A valid and painful look in the mirror of our own illusions. You have stated plainly what exists, without the pretty ribbons and window dressing. I have no argument against any point that you make. That, in and of itself, makes it closer to truth than the argument defending our current system. Thank you for the slap across the face. It was enlightening.

The covenant you are revealing, through your years of study, gives us a true choice about how we want to live.

One small note: I believe that the kings in ancient Sumer had (claimed) a divine right to take the virginity of every bride in the realm. It was generally not enjoyable for everyone else.

Much like with England’s intentions for instituting similar rights in Scotland: attempted ethnic suppression through “breeding out” the indigenous population.

It behaves as a bucket of cold water thrown on all of us.

But the good news, if you’ll accept the play on words, is that we have each other.

This reaching back further than I have gone theologically is quite the workout, but it has been good for my flexibility. Spent a good amount of time in my Sunday sermon examining Jesus and the Covenant.

The Covenant, I am finding, perennially bears nutritious fruit. I suspect it’s hardy enough to satisfy us all.
